The trial reasons transferred Zaria’s primary residence to Adam Newton instead of allowing the agreed six-month therapeutic reintegration process with Healing Family to continue. The order set the stage for abduction, and forced police enforcement days later.

After the forced removal, Zaria’s mom and family did not disappear. They continued visiting, calling, reporting, appealing, documenting, contacting government and oversight bodies, preserving video evidence, and trying to make sure Zaria would one day know she was never abandoned.

Months after Zaria was transferred to Adam Newton, Justice MacLeod ordered Melanie to pay $370,000 in costs, adding financial devastation to the ongoing separation.

After months of separation, Melanie and Zaria’s family tried to show up for ordinary moments — including activities, birthday contact, and attempts to bring love and reassurance to Zaria. Instead of contact being supported, police involvement escalated.

School Board Removes Melanie’s Parent-Portal Access After Adam Newton Excludes Her From Zaria’s School Information

Melanie had been involved with Zaria’s school, volunteering and participating in school life. After the 8th post-trial Order dated February 20 2026 made by trial judge MacLeod, her parent-portal access was removed and school information was restricted through Adam Newton’s consent-control.

Perfected Appeal Is Quashed Weeks Before Hearing, Without Zaria’s Case Being Heard on the Merits

After Melanie perfected the appeal from the trial judgment, the Court of Appeal quashed it before the merits were argued, refused transfer, and ordered costs against Melanie — leaving the removal order intact without appellate review.
